The team at FXBC Mid North Coast is over the moon with the results of its latest sustainability initiative. This business has asked employees and clients to collect bread tags. These tags will be used to raise funds for the Aussie Bread Tags for Wheelchairs program.

The tags are sent to South Australia to be recycled and made into items such as bowls, doorknobs, and coasters. The funds raised from the sale of those items are used to buy wheelchairs for disadvantaged people. It takes about 250kg of tags to make one standard wheelchair.

The aim of the program is to change the life of disabled people in need of a wheelchair who may otherwise not be able to afford one, as well as keep bread tags out of landfill to help preserve the environment.

Since 2006 this program has funded 800 wheelchairs.

FXBC Mid North Coast said it had always kept community and sustainability a focus.

Ninety-nine per cent of every new FUJIFILM copier is either reused, remanufactured, or recycled. FXBC has also been runner-up and winner of the Sustainability Business Awards in Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.

You can drop bread tags or milk bottle tops to the FXBC Mid North Coast at l/26B Isles Dr, Coffs Harbour.
